Alzheimer's Australia says 20 percent of Dementia sufferers in Australia come from migrant backgrounds. With reports that say some people with Dementia who speak English as their second language tend to revert to their mother tongue, the advocacy organization says this will add to the problems faced by the community. On 27 February 2017, an information session about Dementia was organized for Sydney's Nepali community where few of the elderly participants said they had never heard about Dementia before.
