Ex-Gurkha Bharamsher Rai came to Australia in 1988. At that time, the Gurkha settlement was established in Gippsland, Melbourne, as a tribute to the soldiers’ dedication and sacrifices. Rai, currently engaged in community service in Melbourne spoke to SBS Nepali that the history of the Gurkha soldiers' connection with Australia should be passed on to new generations.
