Proposal to ammend the Racial Discrimination Act- should we be concerned?

With some members of Australia's federal parliament wanting to amend the racial discrimination act, how is the proposal being viewed by Australia's Nepali community? Politicians wanting to amend the act say that this will help protect the "freedom of speech". If the act was to be amended then what impact would it have on the Nepali community?
