Australians aged under 16 are being warned they have just two weeks before their accounts are wiped from several major social media platforms. With Australia’s world-first age ban coming into force on the 10th of December, Meta has begun notifying teenagers they will lose access to Instagram, Threads and Facebook. YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, X and the live-streaming platform Kick are also covered by the ban, while gaming platform Roblox remains exempt for now.
