During a meeting with state and territory leaders, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull flagged a proposal to change Australia's anti terror laws. The proposed changes include the ability to hold and question terror suspects, as young as 10 year old without charge for up to a fortnight. Creation of a national database of driver's licenses to help identify terror suspects in public spaces is also being proposed by the federal government. The federal opposition, however, has condemned the proposal that could see children as young as 10 being detained.
