In today's episode of Tax Talk, we’re talking about the Taxpayers’ Charter. Shyam Dahal from the Australian Taxation Office tells us: What is the Taxpayers’ Charter and why does it matter What can taxpayers expect when they deal with the ATO Responsibilities of the taxpayers and Where to find the Taxpayers’ Charter
The Taxpayers’ Charter is important because it clearly outlines what your rights and responsibilities are when dealing with the ATO.
It helps you understand what you need to do and also what you can expect from us when you or your chosen representative deals with us.
It has information on what to do if you want to question an action or decision we have made. We recently updated the charter to ensure it stays relevant now and into the future.
