Things you should know before sending money from Australia to Nepal

Australia ranks 11th among countries sending remittances to Nepal, according to Revati Prasad Nepal, Executive Director of the Exchange Management Department at the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). He notes that while formal remittance channels have become more widely used in recent years, there is still room for improvement, particularly in increasing financial literacy amongst the general public. Our Nepal correspondent, Prayas Dulal, spoke to Revati Prasad Nepal about current trends in remittance flows, from which countries Nepalis send the most money to Nepal, and what can be done to make the process more efficient and secure.
