The son of United States President Donald Trump has labelled Labor senator Kristina Keneally's push to stop a controversial speaker from coming to Australia next week as "insanity." Donald Trump Junior has accused the Shadow Home Affairs Minister of trying to silence conservative views by speaking out against right-wing figure Raheem Kassam.

On the last sitting day of parliament before the winter break, the Opposition has double down on calls for the government to block a far-right activist from entering Australia.

Raheem Kassam is headed to Sydney next week to speak at a conservative conference [[9-11 Aug]], which will be attended by some Government M-Ps.

Shadow Home Affairs Minister Kristina Keneally is leading calls on the government to deny his visa, as it previously did with far-right activist Milo Yiannaoplous.

Those comments led to Donald Trump Junior, a friend of Mr Kassam, defending him on Twitter.
