"There's still a long way to go on the road to reconciliation but the important thing is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are at the centre on any developments". Andrew Meehan - ANTAR.
This year ANTAR the national organization for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reconciliation and rights, teamed up with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority for the 2016 Sea of Hands instillation to launch Reconciliation Week on Friday 27th May.
The Sea of Hands event began in Reconciliation Week featuring live performances by Christine Anu and Casey Donovan on Barangaroo Reserve's Walumil Lawns.
The installation was designed by Gurindji/Malngin/Mudpurra artist and researcher Brenda L Croft and is inspired by historical portraits depicting Eora men, including one of Barangaroo's husbands, Bennelong.
Khi-Lee Thorpe spoke to ANTAR CEO Andrew Meehan in this report.
