In a conversation with NITV Radio proud Wiradyuri woman Fiona Harrison founder and CEO of Chocolate On Purpose, Australia’s first Indigenous Chocolate business, said she is excited her dark chocolate with wyrrung (rosella flower) & mourao (mountain pepperberry) has been named a Winner of the “Best Chocolate/Cacao” category.
She also reiterated how she’s built a unique social enterprise fusing a love for chocolate with social good.
“We’re disruptors in the artisan specialty chocolate market, delivering real industry impact to address ethical issues in supply chains. We source sustainably grown chocolate, contributing to the eradication of forced child labour and raising cacao farmers above the poverty line. And our chocolate is palm-oil free, contributing to the disruption of harm to the climate, Indigenous Communities & endangered species.”

“Next month Princess Mary of Denmark is coming to Australia with a trade delegation, and a Danish company has commissioned us to make chocolate bars with bush food on them, because we use Belgian chocolate and in Denmark that is recognized as the gold standard; blending it with bush food is a way to share the Indigenous Australian story.”
