The Brisbane Sovereign Aboriginal Embassy hosted an Invasion Day rally in the same spirit of all cities around Australia.
Following the rally, the group held a gathering on the Jaggera Nation at Musgrave Park.
Birregubba Elder and Activist Uncle Sam Watson was pleased that elders and their families had traveled to march on to Brisbane's Parliament House.
The group stopped by the old site of the Department of Native Affairs, to remember all of the families who lived under The Aboriginal Protection and Restrictions of the Sale of Opium Act 1897.
Uncle Sam Watson believes that white Australians are lazy when it comes to the bigger issues about national identity and he says that we are at ground zero when it comes to global warming.
