Joshua Button and Robyn Wells have emerged with a beautiful collaboration of poetry and colour to create a world of learning for children to read and let their imaginations run wild.
Children's book's ‘Steve goes to carnival," and ‘At the zoo I see’ have come into fruition after 10 years of love and care.
‘Steve goes to carnival’ is a brilliant uplifting story of a Jazz loving gorilla living in a Rio Zoo, who is on a quest to escape and go to a Jazz club to dance with a beautiful dancer.
The authors have a keen eye for detail and imagination, Joshua Button is a descendant from the Walmajarri people of the East Kimberly and Robyn Wells has passion for language and art and has graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts.
“I always wanted to learn about mountain gorillas all my life, so that’s what I did, so Robyn helped me out with the words and we collected pictures”. Joshua Button Author and Illustrator.

With vibrant illustrations and thoughtful lyrical words ‘At the Zoo I see’ is a learning book for young children to immerse themselves into a world of diverse native and exotic animals. The earthy textures and beaming characteristics of the book catch a sense of fun for young and old readers.
Joshua and Robyn have a gift to share in writing and illustrating fun books in their future endeavours.
The books are published through Australia's Leading Indigenous publisher Magabala Books, and 'Steve goes to carnival,' was shortlisted in the 2017 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA) Small publishers ' Children Book of the Year.
