A young non-indigneous family has signed an extensive personal treaty with Dabee First Nations people.
Wonderful news from the town of Kandos in mid-western New South Wales - where
This Treaty was drafted and proposed by Paul Mathew Dixon who lives with his family of six on land at Kandos, after having moved there not so long ago.
Paul is a solicitor, and says he's spent years trying to educate himself, after his legal training left him with little competency in connecting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
So for Dabee elder Aunty Lyn Syme, she was bemused when this young solicitor contacted her seeking permission to live on her country.
