  NSW

  New South Wales has reported a record-high 919 new cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and two deaths, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 80sUp to 813 of the new cases may have been infectious while out in the community.The Western NSW Local Health District recorded 49 new cases overnight — 39 in Dubbo, 7 in Bourke, 5 in Orange, and one each in Narromine and Walgett, bringing the total number of cases in the region to 369, with 294 of those being located in Dubbo.State Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders has highlighted the district’s decrease in testing numbers between Monday and Tuesday, dropping from over 8000 to just over 6000, stressing the importance of getting tested even if you’re experiencing the mildest symptoms.There are several walk-in vaccination clinics currently running across the district, no bookings required. Vaccinations are available to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents aged 12 and over.

  Remember to bring either a Medicare card, an individual health identification number or a form of legal ID.For more information, visit the Western NSW LHD website.The state’s Far West Local Health District recorded 7 new cases overnight — 6 in Wilcannia and 1 in Broken Hill.Vaccinations are available in those locations, at Wilcannia Town Hall until Friday August 27th daily from 10am to 4pm.Vaccinations in Broken Hill have been relocated to the Broken Hill Civic Centre as of today, and it is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are essential, and both AstraZeneca and Pfizer are available.

  Victoria recorded 45 new cases overnight, 36 of which are linked to known outbreaks, bringing the total number of active cases to 538.
