The Royal Commission has approved plans for the facility to go ahead, but not all are happy about that decision

Alarm bells are still ringing for traditional Adnyamathanha people who have has their country mapped as a proposed site for a nuclear waste dump in South Australia.

Their Spiritual land and sacred sites are at risk of desecration with the decision to short list the Adnyamathanha region as a site for national nuclear waste in the Flinders Ranges.

The findings handed down from the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission recommends that South Australia host a high level nuclear waste dump and the proposed site at Yappala station is on the list of four.

The country has been registered as a heritage site of significance and is home to ancient mounds springs, a scared women's site and burial grounds.

Adnyamathanha Elder Regina McKenzie and her family will not back down from trying to keep their country and people safe.

Her message is clear that the uranuium should not be taken out of the ground and put it back on to the people, when they were told to leave it there in the first place.
