The re-appointed Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs spoke to Living Black Radio during the week of the Federal Election 2016. He spoke about what matters to him and some of the issues and campaigns included in his portfolio for Indigenous Affairs.

In the lead up this Federal Election 2016, it was important for our audience to hear from The Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs Nigel Scullion and the other major representatives for Indigenous Affairs in Parliament.

Senator Nigel Scullion was appointed his role as Minister for Indigenous Affairs and Leader of The Nationals in the Senate in September 2013. he has been reappointed by the Prime Ministers Cabinet by the newly appointed Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

In this interview exclusively for Living Black Radio, I asked Minister Scullion him what he thought was working since he came into the role as Minister for Indigenous Affairs.

We spoke about the current Treaty & Constitutional Recognition debate raised from the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Justice Reinvestment and the Justice targets that are being set by the other major parties to reduce the rates of incarceration for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Nigel Scullion said he would support an Indigenous Minister for Indigenous Affairs when the time comes.
