MFF 2022 also launched the Mob in Fashion program, an initiative aiming to elevate First Nations voices and representation 'behind the scenes' in the fashion industry.

MFF’s  First Nations Program includes the First Nations Runway on March 11 and the ongoing KIN Fashion Exhibition.

“(Through the Kin program) Designers learn everything about the process from creating a mood board for their creations, patternmaking, fringe-making, design, working out how to make a collection right through to photoshoot,” Rhys Ripper said.

“Because we’ve been so blessed, some of our designers have been chosen to be in one of the fashion shows at the Melbourne Fashion Festival.”
