Grandmothers Against Removals urgently want to stop the cycle of stolen generations.
A recent trip to Western Australia will become the next step to prevent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from being removed from their family and housed with non-Indigenous people.
Women from the Grandmothers Against Removals have returned from meeting with the Mardoo people in the Pilbara, taking with them NSW Greens MP David Shoebridge.
The group have discussed the new model currently approved in New South Wales and are looking at ways of tailoring the model to suit the Mardoo people.
Grandmothers against Removals NSW, have signed an agreement in November 2015, with Family and Children Services to ensure that Aboriginal elders are consulted with when a child is removed from their family.
David Shoebridge spoke to Living Black Radio about the trip and future plans to bring this model forward in Australia.
