Ferguson's Cottage was a caretakers cottage where her Grandfather took up residence. It has since been heritage listed, recognised for its historic, social and cultural significance to Gumbaynggirr people.
The Fergusons are one of the original families on Gumbaynggirr country. Evelyn "Nanny" and Andrew Ferguson worked tirelessly during the 1950s and the 1960s to deepen understanding between Aboriginal people, local government authorities and the general Coffs Harbour community.
Nan was a person who could live in both worlds
The cottage has come to represent the place where the reconciliation process began for Coffs Harbour.
