Gunditjmara Whale Dreaming Custodian joins events to ‘Protect Australia’s Ocean for Good’

Yaraan Couzens Bundle is a leader of Southern Ocean Protection Embassy Collective (SOPEC) - Gunditjmara First Nations People’s Ocean defenders.

A series of events are scheduled across 5 days (November 8-12) in Melbourne, Sydney, and Byron Bay to mobilise communities to better protect Australia’s unique marine ecosystems.


The free events will feature in-conversations with leading climate activists, live music and special screenings of acclaimed short-films focused on ocean protection and climate solutions. 

The headliner on day 1 (Novemeber 8) in Naarm/Melbourne is a conversation named ‘Protect Australia’s Ocean for Good’ featuring Yaraan Couzens Bundle - Keerray Woorroong and Gunditjmara Whale Dreaming Custodian; renowned free surfer and Patagonia Global Sport Activist Dave Rastovich as well as Uncle Bunna Lawrie.

Leading up to the event, Yaraan Couzens Bundle explained to NITV Radio that the trio will be yarning about the risks of imminent destruction of sea country.
