Support and developing potential, that's what it takes to assist people exiting prison to return back to their community.

One artist who has survived incarceration and worked through his parole conditions is now excelling as an artist in Victoria only a couple of years since he left prison.

Gunnai artist Raymond Young says with the support of his community and the Torch Project he was able to complete his parole, and is now making plans for his future.

Raymond has made ceramic pots for the exhibition CONFINED 7, showing at St Kilda Town Hall.

He makes pots and shields with Gunnai markings from the East Gippsland region.

Raymond Young won a prize for his sheild display "From the Ground Up" at the 2015 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards.
