A dawn ceremony held to remember the struggles of past ancestors, heals the country and people.


Like so many communities across Australia, Invasion and Survival Day events were happening everywhere to mark 228 years since european settlement. Not only were there protesters in the thousands gathering but the day included ceremonies for healing and remembrance.

Yorga Billya Maryanne Headland Mackay, made the decision to hold a private ceremony to mourn the struggle of her ancestors but also heal the country and her people.
