After moving to Melbourne Raphaelle Joly discovered Aboriginal art and was mesmerized. Working with local artists, the French designer now shares Indigenous creations on her handmade fashion and home accessories.

Raphaelle Joly is a French fashion designer living in Melbourne and founder of the fashion label Imané. Through her collaboration with M&S Textiles, Raphaelle has commissioned three artists from the Northern Territory and uses their fabrics on handmade fashionable handbags, clutches and other accessories.

The French designer likes the colours and patterns of the Indigenous creations, but what inspires her the most is the story behind each pattern. And, what's really important at her company Imané, is the connection between women.
