Day one of the Koori Knockout kicked off with an exciting lineup, featuring both women’s and juniors sides taking to the field in a display of community pride and fierce competition. Among the teams was the Under 17s Erambie All Blacks, with talented young players Nathen Chang, Yindyamarra Johnson, and Curtis Bell playing side by side.
Despite their strong efforts, the Erambie All Blacks were defeated by the La Perouse Panthers in their second round clash. Though disappointed by the loss, the boys remained proud of their achievements and the opportunity to represent their mob.
In a post-match chat with NITV Radio, Nathen, Yindyamarra, and Curtis reflected on the importance of playing for their community and discussed the rugby league players who inspire them.
