NITV’s Rachel Hocking caught up with Linda Burney, Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians in the sidelines of National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony.

Linda Burney was the first Aboriginal to serve in the NSW Parliament and the first Aboriginal woman to elected to the House of Representatives (Federal Parliament).

She says, the fact that two Aboriginal people currently hold the same portfolio on opposite sides of the isle is historic. “It means people in our respective parties look to us for direction,” Linda Burney told NITV.
