Recently Supply Nation launched an app that allows Indigenous businesses to better compete in the economy by tapping in a vast pool of experts and volunteers.

About a year and half ago, Supply Nation sent a group of Indigenous Businesses to the Silicon Valley to learn more about technological innovations and business models.

From there they decided to develop an app designed to address a specific problem faced by many an Indigenous business.

“Indigenous business owners are consistently seeking ways to increase capacity and capability; ways to connect to a wealth of experience through volunteers,” says Jason Timor, CEO of Supply Nation.

Supply Nations’ app was launched earlier this year and is currently available across all platforms. And it is a win-win proposition for all parties.

“Through the app, the skilled experts and volunteers will help build capacity and it’ll also offer an opportunity for non-Indigenous people to have an experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in a different sense as well and broaden their network and understanding of a rich and diverse culture”, Jason Timor said.

Considering the range of skills and means required to develop this new technology, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia stepped in to support the project.
