“Mark making is an enduring technique to tell stories and share knowledges amongst the world’s longest continuing cultures.” – Pierra Van Sparkes

The Koori Heritage Trust’s Off the Wall exhibition is a celebration of mark making in the south-east of Australia.

Pierra Van Sparkes, a Kulin country based Pibbulman Noongar artist and Assistant curator at the Koorie Heritage Trust, explains that mark making has been used over thousands of years by First Nations peoples to share knowledge and culture.
