Rob Edwards is part of WOMADelaide 2024 First Nations line up. The multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter from Victor Harbor (SA), weaves the moving melodies of jazz, blues, and RnB with the powerful art of First Nations storytelling. His vocals narrate tales of the impact of the Stolen Generations on his family, infusing potent messages with head-bopping grooves.

In a conversation with NITV Radio leading up to his performance at WOMADelaide, Rob Edwards revealed how he gets inspired and the making of “Apmere”, his debut single.

“This song addresses the complex subject of pain and healing within First Nations communities, “ Rob Edwards said.

With a repertoire that has supported renowned artists such as Ash Grunwald, Budjerah, and Christine Anu, Rob's performances are enriched by his experiences on stage with notable acts like King Stingray and Vika & Linda.

At WOMADelaide, Rob and his group will not only deliver their soulful performances but also pay homage to First Nations culture by adorning outfits designed by Wiradjuri artist Elisabeth Clomberg of Wiinya Creations.
