Land, time and connection to country are three important areas that bind First Nations peoples across the globe - in Australia and Norway.

That's the opinion of Sami woman and Deputy Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Anne Karin Olli who's visiting Australia this week for Close the Gap, the Apology anniversary, and to discuss issues of land and self determination.

Deputy Minister Olli visited SBS, and sat down with Michelle Lovegrove for a conversation about mutally important issues.

Ms Olli speaks in her Mother Tongue.

Her words are translated by Frank Matheson Executive Producer of SBS Radio's Norwegian program.
