Stewart Stacey, founder and Director at Binary Security, is the winner of the 2019 Barayamal Black Swan Award recognising the best up-and-coming First Nations entrepreneur.
Stewart Stacey’s company, Binary Security, is one of the very few Indigenous owned and Indigenous operated businesses involved in cybersecurity.
In last month’s Barayamal Demo Day and Awards Stewart was declared the winner of the 2019 Black Swan Award that recognises the best up-and-coming First Nations Entrepreneur.
The black swan - or Barayamal in Gamilaraay language- is a symbol of breaking negative stereotypes and showing the world what First Nations people are capable of.
“I feel that Indigenous business in Australia is set to explode onto the world stage and being part of it is both incredibly exciting and humbling, ” Stewart Stacey said in the sidelines of the awards night.
His company, Binary Security, protects businesses in Australia from cyber-threats by providing quality, adaptive solutions using cutting edge knowledge and technologies.
Stewart is also working on a prototype that will bring to small businesses and individuals, at a very low price, the level of online protection currently enjoyed exclusively by large corporations with deep pockets.
