Do you think about how you can prevent chronic disease in your family?

Findings from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) Report has found that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults have 6% more cases of cardiovascular disease compared with non-indigenous adults.

The Heart Foundation is now calling for renewed action on prevention and also acute care.

Vicki Wade is the Leader of the National Aboriginal Health Unit at the Heart Foundation and she says that - as we know - First Nations people are living in third world conditions in many communities and the disproportionate rate of disadvantage is a major contributing factor leading to chronic disease.
