The most remote Indigenous rock band, The Desert Stars, are travelling more than 3000 kms from Spinifex Country to perform in Canberra (March 1) and Sydney (March 3) supporting their international award-winning documentary Gravel Road.

Leading up to the epic Journey, NITV Radio caught up with Tristan Pemberton Gravel Road director.

“'Gravel Road' offers a poignant glimpse into the life of Jay Minning, the band's lead singer, capturing the essence of his journey amidst cultural adversity and triumph,” Tristan Pemberton said.

Pemberton expresses excitement for the film's NSW premiere after garnering international acclaim at seven film festivals, clinching two prestigious awards along the way.

"Their music serves as a bridge between tradition and modernity, embodying the resilience of a people whose history is marked by survival and cultural resurgence.”
