Women and men from town camp communities are standing together and saying NO TO VIOLENCE in Alice Springs.
The Tangentyere Womens Safety Group have been highly commended in the NT Human Rights Awards Social Change Category, for their work in training women and men to identify family violence.
The result of the training and community outreach has reduced the impacts of violence in communities and supports women to take a stronger leadership role in their families.
Barbara Shaw, Co-ordinator for the Tangentyere Women's Committe says we can't stand back and let family violence happen anymore.
