"Heart of the Man," the debut feature film by Indigenous writer, director, actor, and producer David Cook, isn't just another boxing movie. It's a raw and compelling exploration of identity, love, grief, and acceptance, brought to life by a predominantly First Nations and LGBT cast.

In a conversation with NITV Radio, David Cook revealed that his inspiration for the film stemmed from a deep desire to share his own life story.

"It was only right to make 'Heart of the Man' and talk about the story and my life story. The spark really came from the yearning to tell my story," David Cook said.

Starring David Cook and Parker Little in the lead roles of Sammy and Chriss, respectively, the film promises to captivate audiences with its authenticity and emotional depth.
