Yarra City’s struggles and victories in honouring it First Nations people on January 26 “Each year on January 26, Council marks the day with a range of different sensitive and mindful activities and initiatives. We will often hold a culturally sensitive event on January 26 to recognize the loss of culture, language and identity felt by Aboriginal people on that day. And we also support the Change The Date campaign.” - Councillor Edward Crossland mayor of Yarra City.
