Australia based NRI booked in dowry case

An Australia-based fitness trainer had been booked in a dowry case in India.

Times of India have reported that an Australia-based fitness trainer who operated an F45 fitness centre on Road number 92, Jubilee Hills has been booked under the case of dowry. P Pradeep Reddy, got married to Divya Lingamanei in 2008 and the couple has a five year old daughter.

In her complaint to police, Divya alleged that Pradeep took Rs 1.5 crore from her and her parents a few years ago to start his F45 fitness centre and duped them. She also reported that he had taken Rs 10 lack in cash and 30 tola gold, as dowry, at the time of marriage. She also alleged mental and physical abuse from her husband.

Banjara Hill inspector K Srinivas said, “The complainant alleged that Pradeep was physically and mentally torturing her and also maintain affairs with other women”.

The police has registered a case under sections 420, 406, 506 of the IPC and sections 3 and 4 of the DP Act.

Pradeep was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Monday.
