Fourth umpire Ian Gould physically dragged Chris Gayle to prevent him going on to the field and bat against Sri Lanka.
Gayle didn't come out to open the Windies innings due to a hamstring injury.

But the crowds at M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru didn't like it and there were loud chants for the Caribbean southpaw.

Chants only got louder after the first Windies wicket fell and Gayle still didn't walk out to bat, but he padded up and was ready to walk out when wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin was dismissed in the 13th over.

But boos rang out around the ground when Gayle was held back by fourth umpire Ian Gould.

The reason for the fourth umpire to stop Gayle from going out to bat was that he hadn't spent as much time off the field during the Windies innings as he had done during the Sri Lankan innings.
