An unnamed boy in India, grew an unwanted organ when he hit puberty.
Just after his 14th birthday, an Indian boy started noticing a little growth on his back. Within four years, with the influx of testosterone, that growth turned in to an eight-inch-long tail. The growth itself was harmless to the boy but was causing a lot of discomfort so finally he decided to get it surgically removed.

The doctors were unclear as to why this growth happened but believe that the tail may have developed in the womb and only started growing when the boy’s body hit puberty.

One of the surgeons, Dr Pramod Giri said that the family had known about the growth all along but did not consult a doctor due to fear of stigma associated with unusual growth on the body.
The tail was successfully removed by a team of surgeons that involved careful procedure around the spinal cord.
