Brussels attacks: The injured woman you saw in newspapers is an Indian air hostess

Nidhi Chapekar is a cabin crew member with an Indian commercial airline, and was at Brussels airport at the time of the attack.

The picture of a badly injured woman that the world saw with the Brussels bombing story this morning is that of an Indian woman.

Mumbai resident, Nidhi Chapekar is a flight manager with India's Jet Airways. She was joining the flight crew for a flight to the US when the blasts rang out.

Nidhi and another cabin crew member of Jet Airways, Amit Motwani got injured during the blast at Brussels airport and are receiving treatment at a hospital.

"She was waiting to board a flight from Brussels to Newark at 10.15am local time. She is a cabin crew member. We don’t have full information on the extent of her injuries. We know her location — she is in hospital and receiving medical care.”- Jet Airways

India's External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj tweeted to say that there were no Indians among the dead in the attack. She also tweeted about the injured cabin crew members of Jet Airways.
