Amid customer uproar over dwindling stock of branded milk in supermarkets, supermarket giant Coles posted on facebook that its home brand milk is 'made from powder'.
"We can confirm that Coles Brand Fresh milk is made from reconstituted powder," a Coles employee wrote on the supermarket's facebook page in response to a question from a shopper.

The post instantly sparked a customer outrage, leading to many shoppers openly upbraid the supermarket on social media.
However, the company later clarified that it was an inadvertent error and actually meant that the milk was 'not' made from reconstituted powder.
The leading supermarkets- Coles and Woolworths are facing customer backlash as the retail giants are accused of not restocking branded milk in an attempt to get customers to buy their home brand milk.
The “milk crisis” has been spurred by dairy giants Murray Goulburn and Fonterra who slashed the price of milk solids from $5.60 a kilogram to between $4.75 and $5 leaving local milk farmers to be paid less than production costs.
The sale of t 1$-per-liter-home brand milk only exacerbates the problem for the Australian farmers.
Many shoppers have taken a stand against the supermarkets' practice and shared pictures of empty shelves.
