A traffic constable of Punjab police had to throw himself in front of a bus operated by Orbit Aviation, a company belonging to the ruling Badal family. The incident occurred in Rampura Phul in Bathinda district on Monday when the Orbit bus, instead of joining the queue at a level railway crossing jumped in front form the wrong lane despite a traffic cop directing the driver to comply with the traffic rules. The bus finally came to a hald when the policeman sat on the raod and physically blocked the way of the bus.
It is learned that the erring driver was suspended after a video of the incident went viral.
Buses operated by Badal's Orbit Aviation have often been in news for wrong reasons. In May last year, a 13 year old girl was killed after she was pushed out the an Orbit bus by its conductor.
All the buses of the company were pulled off the roads and the entire staff of the company was sent for an orietation program following that incident. But, the latest incident shows not much has changed since then.
