Canadian bhangra stars Karan Aujla and Deep Jandu's ‘Don’t Worry’ Punjabi bhangra night turned worrisome for the organisers, after a violent clash erupted during the concert in Brisbane, over the weekend.
During the event, a brawl reportedly broke out between two groups of spectators at a packed Kedron-Wavell Services auditorium in the northern suburb of Chermside on Sunday evening.
In a video that has surfaced on social media, security personnel can be seen struggling to contain the violent spectators, some of whom were eventually hurled out of the hall.
The police told SBS Punjabi that they were called to the venue at approximately 8.45 pm following reports of a disturbance.
“Upon arrival officers were advised the event had been shut down by management and the persons involved moved on,” the police said.
No arrests or formal complaint were made.
Bunty Punia, one of the organisers of the event, however, denied any police involvement and claimed that the clash broke out after the main performers had left the venue.
“The clash erupted between two groups after the performers had left. They were broken apart by the security guys and no police were involved,” Mr Punia told SBS Punjabi.
He maintained that the show went on “smoothly” barring a minor interruption.

Deepinder Singh, who was attending the ‘much-anticipated’ music night, told SBS Punjabi that the show had to be stopped twice, because of the crowd misbehaviour.
“The concert which began at 6:30 pm was scheduled to end at 11 pm, but was interrupted twice and eventually cut short due to the crowd’s violent behaviour,” said Mr Singh.
He claimed that the said spectators were most likely misbehaving because they were "drunk."
"No one was injured during the clash," Mr Singh added.
Another spectator who wishes to remain anonymous said he had to leave the show midway with his family after the clash erupted.
“As soon as the crowd started misbehaving, we took off from the venue because I knew it was going to end badly.”
“This was widely promoted as a family show. I’m disappointed that we had to leave midway. Happens all the time during such shows,” he added.
SBS Punjabi has also reached out to the Kedron-Wavell Services Club for comment.
