A remake of the award-winning Marathi movie 'Sairat', Dhadak is a romantic drama featuring Janhavi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The movie is a take on the caste system prevalent in India.
Set in the desert state of Rajasthan, the love story explores how the protagonists deal with the issues of caste and honour killings.
While it's the official remake of the 2016 Marathi movie, Sairat, Shashank Khaitan said Dhadak has a few different elements.
"Our Dhadak is quite similar to Sairat, yet there are a few different elements that the audience will find out once they watch the film," he said told IANS.
