Drunk US doctor Anjali attacks Uber driver, suspended

A video shows Dr Anjali Ramkissoon kicking and punching an Uber driver. She later gets into the car and starts throwing his iPhone, mail, tickets, scissors and other possessions, littering the place before finally walking off.

30-year-old doctor Anjali Ramkissoon was suspended from clinical duties by Jackson Health System in Miami after a video of her attacking an Uber driver and throwing the man’s belongings into the street, went viral on YouTube on Thursday.

Dr Anjali, a fourth yearr neurology resident, was allegedly drunk when she got into an Uber cab without a reservation and created a ruckus when asked to leave.

The video shows Ramkissoon kicking and punching the Uber driver. She later gets into the car and starts throwing his belongings before finally walking off.

According to an eyewitness, the police arrived at the scene later and handcuffed her but didn’t arrest her as the driver didn’t press charges.

“The Uber driver was too good of a person and decided to take a cash settlement instead of pressing charges. In his words, ‘...she was crying (and) said (she) was sorry for everything,’” the eyewitenss added.

According to media reports, Jackson Health System confirmed that Ramkissoon is a fourth-year neurology resident and that an investigation is underway.

“Anjali Ramkissoon, a fourth-year neurology resident employed by Jackson Health System, has been placed on administrative leave, effective immediately, and removed from all clinical duties. Jackson has launched an internal investigation. The outcome of the investigation will determine if any disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including termination,” the statement from the hospital said.
