EgyptAir hijacker wanted to see his ex-wife

An EgyptAir flight was hijacked on Tuesday by a man wearing a suicide belt which has now turned out to be fake.

Some serious security concerns have been raised after a man hijacked a plane using a suicide belt. The plane was forced to divert to Cyprus. 

Though, the motive of the hijacker-an Egyptian-remain unclear, the Cypriot state broadcaster said he demanded the release of women prisoners in Egypt. 

As more details emerged, it seemed he was more interested in seeing his ex-wife. 

Authorities say the hijacker, under arrest now, wasn't a professional. It has also emerged that the suicide belt he used for the hijack is fake.

The hijacker was seen being frisked at the security gate of the airport.

EgyptAir flight MS181 flying from Alexandria to Cairo was hijacked on Tuesday with 63 passengers on board. Several passengers managed to leave the plane. Later, the hijacker was arrested.
