A young family in Melbourne’s west has been left terrified after a gang of six thieves broke into their home in Brookfield in the early hours of Monday and stole two cars, cash and phones.
Sanna Farrukh and her husband Farrukh Nazeem were fast asleep when the intruders entered their home and switched on the light to search for the keys of their brand new Audi
"That’s when we woke up... they shouted ‘everybody wake up, wake up, wake up. Where's the phone, where's the money, where's the wallet?'" Sanna Nazeem told '7 News.'
The thieves who were armed with wooden staves pulled from the house fence and garden side strips, took cash and forced them to start the Audi in their garage.
“They demanded straight away give us the keys of the Audi,” Mr Nazeem told 'Nine News.'

The thieves also took a Holden Commodore, besides their phones, money and wallets.
While the thieves are still at large, the Audi was found a few kilometres away later on Monday.

Ms Farrukh said she had seen a gang loitering around her house in the day preceding the incident.
"It’s the same gang. I am a hundred per cent sure, it’s the same gang," says Ms Farrukh.
Similar home invasions have taken place in other western suburbs earlier this month.
Just a day earlier, a gang of six to eight intruders beat up a couple after sneaking into their home in Rockbank in the early hours on Sunday.
Police have charged a 16-year-old boy in relation to Sunday’s incident.
On Friday, a 21-year-old real estate agent received serious injuries when her Audi was carjacked on Tarneit just after she had stepped out of her vehicle.
