An Indian international student has gone missing just days after arriving in New Zealand.
There are grave concerns about the well-being of Jatinder Pal Singh who has gone missing just hours before he was scheduled to board a flight to India.
Jatinder had arrived in Auckland just a couple of days ago on a study visa. According to his friends, he seemed extremely uncomfortable there and had 'suicidal thoughts'.
His housemates informed his family in Punjab who then arranged for a return ticket for him.
Jatinder is scheduled to board a flight at 11 PM on Tuesday, March 22. But, at around 2.30 in the afternoon, he suddenly went missing from an eatery where he was having snacks with his friends.
"We took him to the Sikh temple and then we sat down at this place to eat something. He asked for something to drink. When I returned with a soft drink, he was not here," said Inder Singh.
Auckland police have been informed and a missing person report has been filed.
