An Indian NGO Smile.Care has a mission to uplift the oppressed human spirit through compassion and understanding.
With her focus to help the people in rural parts of the country, Mandeep Kaur Sidhu - the Founder member of the NGO has now reached out to social media to help support the cause #10000ShoeToGive.
After being in social works from long time, the two women Mandeep kaur Sidhu & Jaswinder Kaur Walia decided to unite their efforts and give them an organized shape to address various issues in the society.
Rather than a focused approach the two decided to welcome all issue of the people in rural parts of the country. The founders chose to start from a small village Tangra, Amristsar in Punjab, India - to be near to the people who need help.
In an interview with SBS Radio, Mandeep talked about their new mission to provide 10000 shoes to the needy kids in rural Punjab.
“Help us to spread the word - ‘Let us Turn Pain to Smile Together’ and support this cause #10000ShoeToGive”
“At the end of the year, I will be publishing a book on the success of the initiative. But that is a long way to go.”
Talking about an emotional story, Mandeep mentioned that sometimes she feels helpless given the pain and sufferings.

“How much is needed and how little I am able to do for them.”
“We distributed slippers to a few, as we were carrying limited pairs. They were happy to receive the colorful slippers.
“They were slowly wearing them as their feet have become hard due to chilly winters and they were very slowly moving their feet to wear a slipper.”
“Being compassionate and Giving are the natural ways of making our soul feel happier of our existence on this earth. So we should always grab the opportunity.”

“The strongest hearts make time for helping others in their low times, even when they themselves are fighting hard in their challenging times," said Mandeep Kaur Sidhu in an interview with SBS radio’s Punjabi Program.
