A Melbourne truck driver and his son actively intervened in a violent robbery scene at a service station in Melbourne's west late at night.
The shocking CCTV footage shows a violent intruder slamming the service station door using a white ute.
Before the intruder could slam enter the service station, a terrified 7-Eleven employee locked himself in the backroom.
The robber used a sledgehammer and crowbar to make his way into the store.
CCTV footage shows a brave truck driver entering the scene and fighting off the thug as police arrive on the scene.
Truck driver, Peter said he grabbed the offender's crowbar to fight stop him.
According to The Age Report, truckie felt that the violent attacker was some kind of ‘half-robot’ who was constantly laughing at him.
"Every time I hit him, he was just laughing at me. He was like a half-robot or something. There was no stopping that kid."
The CCTV footage also shows Policemen trying to stop the young offender after a brief scuffle.
While police were seen chasing attacker’s ute on foot, truck driver’s son (seen in orange fluoro vest) jumped into the police car to chase the young robber.
Police confirmed the arrest of a 19-year-old man who drove into a power pole, a short distance from the 7/11 service station.
