A 31-year-old man is in police custody in connection with theft of a Jeep Grand Cherokee from a Springvale service station. The vehicle belonged to Kulveer Singh who had gone inside the service station to buy an energy drink.

The expensive four-wheel drive with keys inside was too tempting for a hooded thief to tempt. When Kulveer returned, his vehicle was gone along with his smartphone and other belongings still inside the car.
He used the service station phone to inform the police and to track his vehicle through his smart phoe’s GPS.

“I was shocked… I had no idea what had happened. The car was gone.. I knew where I had parked but it wasn’t there,” Kulveer told 7 News.

“It’s pretty dangerous. People need to be more careful around here,” he added.

The Jeep was found overturned in Clayton after it crashed with a parked car.
